Hi, I’m Dr. Komal Vargas—but my littlest patients call me Dr. Koko.
After a stint in a traditional outpatient clinic, I realized I wanted more time with my patients and a more comfortable environment. Now, I deliver personal pediatric care right to your door, serving families with member-based pediatric care.
A DFW Native
I’m a Dallas area native, neighbor, and active community member.
Texas A&M Alumni
I went to Texas A&M for medical school (Gig ’em!) and completed my residency in Austin.
English & Spanish
I am fully fluent in Spanish and love being able to connect with families in the language they feel most comfortable with.
Wife & Mom to Two
I’m living the “boy mom” life with my husband and our two sons.

What to Look For
Dr. Vargas Pro-Tip
🟡 Coxsackievirus / Rhinovirus
(Moderate/Elevated regional activity)
Sudden high fever, sore throat, mild runny nose, and sometimes small
blisters on the tongue or a rash on the hands and feet.
blisters on the tongue or a rash on the hands and feet.
This is driving a lot of the ‘summer colds’ and hand-foot-mouth cases in local DFW daycares right now. Hydration is everything. Keep them comfortable with cold liquids or popsicles, and skip the juices which can sting mouth sores
🔴 Stomach Flu (Norovirus)
(High activity locally)
Sudden onset of vomiting, watery diarrhea, and mild stomach cramping, usually lasting 3-4 days.
Do not force large cups of water immediately after vomiting—it stretches the stomach and triggers another wave. Wait 30 minutes, then give tiny sips (1 teaspoon) of electrolyte solution every 5 minutes.
🟡 Seasonal Allergies (Grass & Weed)
(High activity in Rockwall County)
Intense sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, clear runny nose, and a dry nighttime cough caused by post-nasal drip.
North Texas grasses are peaking right now. Instead of jumping straight to oral medications, try using a simple saline nasal spray at bedtime. Physically washing the pollen out of their nasal passages after they’ve played outside works wonders.
